New for 2026

On a brand-new home, the 2026 HST/GST rebate can return a meaningful chunk of the tax. Enter a price for an estimated maximum, then we'll confirm your exact figure for the specific suite and your situation.

How this estimate works: for an owner-occupied brand-new home, this tool applies the proposed 2026 enhanced rebate as described on our Buyer's Guide: up to the full 13% combined HST on eligible homes valued to $1,000,000 (a maximum of $130,000), holding that maximum to $1.5M, then phasing down between $1.5M and $1.85M to a $24,000 floor above that. Investment/rental purchases follow a different (NRRP) path and are not estimated here.

Important: figures are estimated maximums, not guarantees, and this is not tax advice. Your actual rebate depends on the suite, the purchase price, your eligibility (owner-occupied vs. investment), and the date of the agreement of purchase and sale. For assignment purchases, eligibility generally follows the date of the original builder agreement, so many won't qualify. The 2026 enhancements remain subject to legislation. Always confirm your eligibility with a qualified tax/legal professional. See our Privacy & CASL Policy.
